STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Not Your Grandmother's Cardigan

One of the hottest styles for fall is the cable knit cardigan. This week’s Fashionista built her outfit around this piece so perfectly, I couldn’t help but stop and admire. The oversized knit sweater is perfect with almost any outfit and fends off the cold days with ease.

Because she has perfect fair skin and light, long locks, she took an entirely neutral look and paired it with dark skinny jeans to avoid being too washed out. She also chose to wear a striped men’s-inspired button-up to break up the monotony of the solid pieces. By throwing in a dark bag and canvas wedge boots with dark details, it adds more interest to the outfit.

The best thing about the chunky knit cardigan is it doesn’t limit you to wearing just jeans. Pair it with any spring floral dress with sheer leggings and boots for a feminine look. For a more laid back feel, choose an oversized tee, distressed corduroy shorts, thigh-high socks and boots.
