DIY: Easy Apple Square Pastries & My Jamaican Thanksgiving

Even though Inked & Sewn is a Fashion DIY blog, in the spirit of thanksgiving I thought it would be appropriate to share an easy dessert I make for my family on Thanksgiving.

What you need:
-4 Apples
-4 pre-rolled pie crusts
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
-2/3 cup brown sugar
-1/3 cup flower
-1 tbsp butter

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

I usually like to use at least 2 granny smith apples to make the pastries a little tart.

Peel the 4 apples and dice them.

Once you are done put it in a large mixing bowl and add the brown sugar, flour and cinnamon.

Mix it well until all the pieces of apple are evenly coated.

Unroll the pre-made pie crusts and cut them into 4" squares.

Place the mixture in the middle of the squares and dab a little butter on top.

Fold each corner into the center and place them in the oven for 10-15 minutes ( or until golden brown).

Within about 30 minutes you now have individual apple pies. dollop some fresh whipped cream and eat.

Some more food from our "Jamaican Thanksgiving".

Lobster Thermidor ...or as my mom calls it "lobster-through-the-door". :)

Medallion steaks with Blue Cheese.

"Outback" green beans.

and our appetizer...MORE SEAFOOD... coconut shrimp and crab.

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving.. now get some sleep so you can fight off the crowds tomorrow morning during the black Friday sales!!

Happy Thanksgiving
xx
