Guest Blogger: (Style Advice) Travel Like a Fashionista

I’m a firm believer in putting your best foot forward every day. Wanting to be comfortable doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style though. You can look good and feel great at the same time.

I’ve been doing a lot of traveling lately and one of the places I see comfort take precedence over style most is at the airport. Sure, it isn’t the most glamorous place on earth but that doesn’t mean you can’t still look great. Take a few tips from some celebrities who seem to have discovered the perfect formula for traveling in style. They know that paired down basics and stylish but functional accessories are the way to go.

Start your look off with great basics. Leggings or stretchy jeans are my go-to because they’re comfortable enough to wear on a long flight. When it comes to a top, opt for something comfortable paired with a pretty slouchy sweater or a cardigan.

Now that you’ve got your comfortable base, accessories will really make or break your look. While I love layering on jewelry, resist the temptation so you can avoid a hassle at security. No one wants to be stuck behind the girl taking off a ton of jewelry, let alone be her. An oversized scarf is perfect for travel because it adds a finishing touch to your look and doubles as a blanket on colder flights.

When it comes to bags, I love a great carry-all. I usually opt for a satchel but cross-bodies and totes are great too. It just needs to fit all of your carry-on essentials.

Last but never least, shoes. Now don’t get me wrong, I worship heels but the airport definitely isn’t the place to break out your sky-high stilettos. You’re going to be doing quite a bit of walking so I recommend a stylish pair of flats or sandals. Boots also work well if you’re headed somewhere a bit more chilly. Not only are the more comfortable than heels but they’re also easy to slip off when you’re going through security.
